Chapter One
Weeks after the battle with Belthazor, Evan just watches the monitors, looking and waiting for a sign of Amanda, still alive and running. "She has to be out there I have to save her, before that demon kills her. I don't understand I have millions of monitors in every dark corner. Where is she?" As Evan stood up, he could see outside through the window and sees that there were demons flying around the mansion. Evan looks at Justice and says. "Well, it looks like they want to take the throne and take control where Belthazor has left off. Cut the head off the snake and another rises to take its spot."Justice stands beside Evan and speaks to him inside his mind. "You understand that I can't help you, once you leave this room, you will be on your own. You alone will have to fight the demons that knock on your door.
Evan tightens his gloves up. "Lets just get this over with, if they came here looking for a fight, then I'm going to bring the fight to them." Evan begins to walk toward the door.
"Lets not get over confident Evan, they have fought countless battles and they will kill you. They want that throne, and they will die for it." Justice says as she stares outside.
Evan opens the door and can hear the demons outside screaming at him. The biggest of them flies down to the ground and starts to walk over to Evan. "This is where you fall boy! Angels can't save you from us out here." The demon keeps rambling on. Evan gets tired of hearing him, and blinks behind him and grabs his black wings and tears them off of his back. The demon screams as he turns around and sees Evan tossing his wings to the ground.
"You talk to much!" Evan brings his hands to his side and as the fire that Evan controls, forms in mid air. Evan discharges the fireball at the demon. The demon looks up and lets out his last scream, as his body turns into ashes. The other demons that watched Evan tear the wings off one of their own brothers, were flying in circles around Evan. They were waiting for him to make his move, but some were frightened. Evan decided that he wasn't going to wait, and teleports in mid air and catches one of the demons off guard and burns him into ash before he even hits the ground.
Before any of the other demons knew that another one of their brothers had fallen victim to Evan's fire, he teleports beside another and rips off the demon's wings in mid air and falls to earth. As Evan continued teleporting and taking the lives of other demons, some of the demons didn't want to die so they fled, and the ones that thought they could take on Evan, were sent to be judged.
As the last demon fled, and the last demon that stayed to fight burnt to ash, Evan looked at the mansion. The very place where he grew up, the place where he felt the safest, he realizes that this wouldn't be a place where he could live, because evil has lived there for so long that it was stained with darkness. Evan opens the door and tells Justice to step out. "I'm going to burn this place down, because it's like a symbol for darkness. I will rebuild a better one after I find my family."
Evan begins to burn the mansion to rid the evil that has lived there for so long. As the mansion burned, Evan and Justice start to head for the city. Evan notices that there was one demon left. The demons wings were torn off and he was severally burnt. Evan kneels beside the demon and asks. "Where is Malik? Where did he take Amanda? Answer me, or I will make you suffer!" The demon turns his head to the side so he wouldn't have to look at Evan; so Evan takes hold of the demons face and forces the demon to look at him. "Answer me. NOW!"
The demon knows that if he tells him where Mailk was, he would be tortured for doing so and if he didn't tell, then he was going to be tortured by Evan. The demon looks at Evan and then looks over at Justice and gives her a grin and sticks his tongue out as far as he could and with his sharp pointed teeth, he bites down as hard as he could and his forked tongue falls to the ground.
Evan looks at the demons tongue and laughs. "Your damned if you do and your damned if you don't." Evan drags the demon by his feet, back to the front of the mansion and drives two thick tree branches through his shoulders and into the ground. "You stay here, I'm not done with you."
"Justice, we should get over to the tower and see if Belthazor left any clues lying around." They both teleported away from the mansion, that was still burning to the ground and left the demon to suffer until Evan returned.
Chapter Two
The military approached Belthazor's Towers within days after Xavier and Belthazor's battle. The General tells his men that he wants the entire building quarantined. No one was to leave and no one was allowed to enter. The men jumped out of their vehicles, some surrounded the building, some entered in the front and from the rear. They took over the entire building within minutes of arriving. Five groups of four man teams went through floor-by-floor and searched for anyone still inside. The General wanted the weapon that Belthazor was building for the Secretary of Defense. The only thing they found was the destroyed robotics outside in front of the building where Xavier and his Four Horsemen fought Belthazor and Wolf. A team of scientist picked up what they could salvage and brought it back inside to examine. The General stood over them as they worked, and they worked hard but they couldn't figure out how to turn it on. For days they looked for a program that could help them, but Belthazor had technology so far advanced that the military's computer programmers and engineers had no idea where to begin.
The General started to look for workers that were employed at the tower but couldn't find any. It was as if everyone had left the city after the disappearance of Belthazor. The General knew that the Secretary of Defense would be calling him for an update. He had to find something, but he had nothing.
* * *
Evan and Justice walked down the street towards the tower. Everyone noticed that Evan was walking with a lioness, and they either ran back inside or stayed on the other side of the street. Evan could see that everyone was frightened, but hoped that someone would get the word out to Malik that he was still alive and waiting.
Evan approached the building and could see that the tower was overtaken by the military. Evan had no idea why, but he knew that it couldn't be good. Each step Evan and Justice took he could see and hear the thoughts of the men guarding the entrance. One called the General to see what they were supposed to do. The other pointed his gun at them.
Evan not liking that they were pointing their guns at him, and decided that if they deemed him a threat, then he knew that he was in for a fight.
Evan stops and tells Justice to follow him. As both guards pointed their guns. One guard yells out. "Stop! Stay where you are!" They kept walking. The guards started to shoot at them. As the bullets begin to fly through the air, Evan and Justice disappear as if they were shooting at nothing and Evan and Justice appear inside. More guards came out and they could see that Evan and Justice were inside. "You are in a restricted area. Surrender at once or you will be shot!" As more guards take their position to surround Evan and Justice. One of the men turns on an alarm to alert all personnel.
"It looks like we weren't invited Justice." Evan looks down at Justice, and puts his arms up as if he was giving up. As the team leader walks over cautiously. Evan heats up the air and sets off the fire alarms and sets off the sprinkler system. As the water began to shower down on them, Evan and Justice make their move. With a blink of an eye, Evan melted the barrels of the guns and then teleported to the next gun. As more guards came to the aid of the others. Evan decided that this was going to take too long. He needed to get back to searching for Amanda.
Evan teleported up to the next floor, with Justice not to far behind him, Evan sees a group of men and decides to talk to one of them. He tells Justice to go ahead and distract them while he took one of them into one of the offices. The solider realizes that he was just taken away from his team. "Where is my team?" The soldier asked as he pointed his gun at Evan.
"Listen to me. You will be fine. Just tell me why you took over this building?" Evan asks as he teleported to one corner to the next, as to confuse the soldier even more.
"We took it over by the direct order of the Secretary of Defense. You are to surrender at once or I will shoot you!" The soldier tries to sound convincing.
"So your telling me that you took over this entire building just because? What does your Secretary of Defense want?" Evan gets closer to the soldier.
"I can't say." The soldier begins to panic and tries to shoot Evan, but misses. As he emptied his clip and begins to reload Evan gets closer and rips the gun away from his hands and knocks him to the floor. "Now that I have your attention. I'm not going to harm you or any of your friends. Now just tell me what the government is looking for and you can walk out of here with your life."
Evan helps the soldier up onto his feet and hands him his gun back.
"Please, I have a wife and kid at home don't kill me." The soldier begins to beg for his life.
"I'm not going to hurt you, just answer the question." Evan getting frustrated with him, takes his eye off of the soldier and the soldier takes out his side arm and puts it up to Evan's head. "Now listen to me, on your knees or I will shoot you, do you understand that."
"You just made a big mistake." Evan teleported away and the soldier tries to shoot Evan, but Evan disappeared. As the first bullet left the chamber of the gun, the soldier looks to the right of him and sees Evan's right fist coming at him but it was to late for him to move and gets punched in the face. Making the solider lose his balance and dropping his gun onto the floor. Evan picks the soldier up and tosses him across the room.
"I gave you every opportunity, but you refused. I guess you thought I was playing around. I don't have time for these games now tell me! What does the government want from this building?"
Evan showing the soldier that he meant business by holding the soldier up in the air and catching the desk on fire. The soldier looked at Evan and wondered where the fire was coming from. It was as if Evan had a flamethrower up his sleeve.
"Alright! Put me down and I will tell you." Evan ceases the fire and drops the soldier onto the ground. "He wants the robot that Belthazor was building, that's all. We found it, but they have no idea how to work it."
"Thank you. Now was that so hard." Evan begins to walkout of the room but stops and looks back at the soldier. "You have twenty minutes to evacuate this entire building, any one left inside will burn as this building will. I'm telling you to get all of the men out of here, if you don't their deaths will be on you!"
Evan teleported away and headed up to the research department. Evan walks down the hallway as he passes offices, he remembers the first day he walked these halls and the office that he was headed for, was where he first saw an angel, the first time he saw Amanda.
He could see the engineers working with the scientist trying to get the robot to work, or even just a spark of life but they were lost.
Evan gets to the door and opens it, everybody in the room turned to look at who was coming in. The guards point their guns at Evan. Evan looked around the room with the guards walking closer to him; he blinks over to the table were the robot was laid out. The men that were trying to get it to work run out of the room but the guards still tried to get closer. One of the guards tells Evan. "Surrender or we will shoot, get on the ground now!"
"Don't you guys learn? You can't shoot me." Evan teleports behind them and takes one of the guards' guns and points it at his head. "Where is the General?"
As Evan questioned the guard, the door opened and the guard pointed at the man that opened the door. Evan takes out the clip and throws the gun and the clip in different directions. The General tells the guards to leave the room, and not to come back in until instructed to do so. The General locks the doors as the guards left. "So your Evan? Your adopted father was working on a very important job; he was building something for the government. We have come to collect. Where is Belthazor, we can't find him anywhere, he didn't leave the country did he?"
Evan watches the Generals every move. "Yes, he is gone for good, he won't be returning. Everything that he left behind is mine, including this building, and everything in it. I know what you came for, but you won't be taking it."
The General walks around the room, as he looks at Evan and looks at the robot lying on the table. "So all of this is yours then. That means that you will finish out the contract. If you don't then, I guess we will take control of everything in this building. Oh wait, we already have! So listen up little kid, either you help me get this robot up and running, or I will have more soldiers here within hours, and I will order them to tear this place apart. They already have the robot reassembled, all you have to do is turn it on."
"Evan walks over to the robot and looks at it." Do you understand what this truly is? It will bring war, a war so great that you could almost call it Armageddon. So I'm very sorry, but I will not be turning it on for you or anybody else, so go ahead and call who you want, destroy what you want. Your threats don't scare me.
The General looking ticked off turns to the door and yells for the guards to come back in. As the guards entered the room, Evan was standing by the robot and was looking at the markings on it. The General looks at the guards and tells them to watch the robot and to kill Evan if he tried to leave. The guards looked at each other and then stared at Evan. As the General left the room, to make a call for reinforcements, Evan stared back up at the guards and gave them a smirk. The guards felt intimidated and raised their guns. Evan pulled up a chair and sat down and waited.
Evan starts to spin in the chair slowly. "Come on guys, do you really think that you guys can take me? I some how got all the way up here, now lets just say, the General does call for some back-up. Do you actually think that you can stop me?"
The guards watch as Evan talks as he spun around, they could hear the General talking but couldn't make out what he is saying. "You just sit tight and no one is going to get hurt."
Evan begins to spin faster. "I suggest that you guys leave before you get caught in the cross-fire. This is your chance, what is coming for me is not human and will kill you without thinking or remorse." Evan makes the chair suddenly stop. "GET OUT! NOW!"
As Evan screams at them, Justice appears on top of the table staring at the guards and then lets out a loud roar. The guards jump back and fall on to the floor. As Justice stops roaring a thundering crash hits the building, as if the building was hit with a wrecking ball, the floor shook and the windows broke.
The guards got up and run out the door, as the General walked back into the room. "Get back here and fight!" The General turned to look at Evan and sees Justice for the first time. "So Evan, you think if you have an angel by your side, that you might some how win this fight? You have no idea what you are up against do you? They have been here for a very long time they won't stop until they get what they want."
Evan gets out of the chair. "So you actually work for these demons?"
"Yeah, how could we not? They helped us win war after war. Our nation would have lost a long time ago if we didn't join with them. So you go ahead and think that we are evil, but they have helped us more than the one you follow."
As the General kept talking about why he thought it was a good idea to join forces with evil to win wars, Evan tells Justice that she should get all the soldiers out of the building before a dark angel came inside.
As Justice teleported out of the office. The windows exploded and glass flew through the air. Evan glanced over at the General; he was just saying how great it was joining sides with them. Now that he has to pull out chunks of broken glass out of the side of his body, he probably will be choosing not to praise them anymore, if he survives.
