Print on Demand. This book delves into the relationship between logic and metaphysics, exploring the origins and development of the categories of thought. The author, a renowned philosopher, argues that logic is a science concerned not only with the forms of truth but with truth itself, with the categories as the souls of actuality. Through a systematic analysis of the categories, the book offers a critique of them, distinguishing the true from the untrue categories and discerning the sphere of knowledge in which certain categories have validity. The author emphasizes the importance of understanding the development of these categories, advocating for a comprehension of the objects of study in their development. This book provides a valuable foundation for philosophical study, offering a unique perspective on the nature of thought and reality. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

In all discourse, or verbal expression of thought, there regularly occur, besides terms representing mere objects or groups or classes of objects, terms which, instead, stand for general notions, originating within rather than from without, predicates and relations under which, for the mind, objects stand or by which they are determined - that is to say, the so-called categories of thought. Such terms are, for example, being, quantity, essence, cause, actuality, end, truth, with their primitives or derivatives. The general notions for which such terms stand are of very great significance and interest, not only as forming the ground of definite connection, in consciousness, among objects, but also as together constituting a world of realities of themselves.
