A detailed collection of studies on some of the best books in the world, with chapters on Antony and Cleopatra, The Pickwick Papers, Barrack-Room Ballads, Don Juan, and A Doll's House, amongst others. Edited by Wilfred Whitten, a British writer and editor whose pseudonym was "John O'London", from where the influential John O'London's Weekly obtained its name. Dated from the British Library. Bound in half morocco with red cloth boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities resulting in minor loss. Fading to the spines with the odd small mark to the boards. Further fading to the rear board of volume IV and front board of volume V of The World's Library of Best Books, with a small puncture mark to the front board of volume V. Light cocking to the front board of volume V of The World's Library of Best Books. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot. Very Good.
