Later title (#21) in the 23-book series from the Stratemeyer Syndicate (under the Laura Lee Hope pen name) that thrilled & inspired girls at the beginning of the 20th century (1913-1933), allowing readers to vicariously experience the adventures of the "Tramping and Camping Club" of the girls in "Deepdale" New York that they were often denied them in real life. In 213 pages + ads for other Whitman children's titles in rear. Orig. published in 1931 by Grosset & Dunlap, this is the First Printing from Whitman (#2324, First, thus), n.d. besides copyright. Hardcover 8vo has blue cloth-covered boards stamped with black lettering to front & spine. Condition is Good, with rubbing to extremities & whitening caused by dampness to both ends of spine--no internal damage. Pages are clean & unmarked, but heavily tanned, commensurate with age & paper quality. Text bloc secure, but both hinges cracked. The unclipped DJ is also VG- (minus): colorful & bright with moderate rubbing to extremities, ffep is loosening, but intact; text block secure. Pages heavily tanned & somewhat brittle. Former owner's name & date to ffep; else unmarked. The unclipped DJ is Good+: colorful & bright, with light soil, rubbing & chipping; nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
