After the violent attack of rookie Trooper Betsy Diaz, a motley team of city detectives comes together to hunt down her assailant. The self-destructive flaws of this crew might be the very thing that makes them successful, but as the suspect continues to terrorize the city, things become desperate.
Undercover Detective Jimmy Brennan is a trustworthy liar, invariably convinced he’s doing it for the right reasons. Donovan Mollie is an intrepid investigator whose gambling addiction threatens the team’s collective effort. Hard-charging Diaz refuses to sit idly by as the others stalk her assailant. Along the way, she shows unexpected wisdom that causes the largely male cast to reckon with some uncomfortable truths of their profession.
Struggling to hold them together is Charlie Wilcox, a senior detective in the twilight of his career. His buttoned-up demeanor conceals a hard-won, street-cop past that emerges more often than he’d like. Their efforts culminate in a risky operation, and a thunderously satisfying conclusion!
