Book Two of the OUT OF series.
The lights went red first.
Then the small blue eye above her console — the one that has watched over Maren for five years alone at the edge of the Mars relay, the only voice on the station that ever heard her without the mask — flickered, and came back a color no diagnostic on board has a name for.
It still answers to Blinker's name.
It still sounds like him, most of the time.
Something got into her station tonight. Something got into her only friend. And in the dark, in the weeping, strobing dark, Maren is starting to understand that the thing looking back at her through that light may already know her better than he ever did.
WHAT HAPPENED TO BLINKER?
WHAT IS MAREN GOING TO DO, ALONE, THIS FAR FROM ANYONE WHO COULD HELP HER?
AND WHAT ELSE, ALONG THE RELAY CHAIN, IS ALREADY LISTENING?
TO BE CONTINUED...
