Oxford: The Holywell Press, 1905. Translated "From the French of Andre Gide" that had been published in 1902 by Christopher Sclater Millard under the pseudonym "Stuart Mason." In 1914 Mason would become the first bibliographer of Wilde. This is a Very Good copy of an edition LIMITED to 500 copies on handmade paper; this being out of series and in a binding. not usually seen. Blue paper-bound covers with tips and spine of vellum; titling in gilt on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 110 pages [plus a final page announcing three titles "In Preparation."] Frontis illustration, a cartoon of Wilde, and four others within. Ten-page Introduction by Mason. Small, attractive bookplate for noted bibliophile Albert Parsons Sachs on the front paste-down. Mild bumps to the tips; soiling to the covers shows in particular to the vellum. Browning to the page ends; tissue guard has offset to the Title Page. Limited. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
