Paperback. The history of Orpington reaches back to the Stone Age, but it was during the nineteenth century that the suburban town and surrounding areas began to take shape into something we would recognise today. Located on the outskirts of Greater London, road development, the coming of the railways and the Industrial Revolution had a lasting impact. Local authors Phil Waller & Tom Yeeles take readers on a historical tour; with the help of a handy location map, readers are invited along to discover how Orpingtons most recognisable locations and hidden-away gems have changed over time. A guided tour of the historic town of Orpington, showing how the areas you know and love have transformed over the centuries. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
