Condition: near fine. [xvii] 355pp. Octavo. Publisher's blue cloth; spine title in gilt. Minor shelfwear to crown and foot, corners of boards slightly bumped. Printed dust jacket, price clipped; spine slightly browned with some creases to foot and crown. Small stain to rear panel, edges somewhat browned. Pictoral frontis; 35 B/W plates from photographs, figures in text, folding map at rear. An exceptionally clean and neat copy; map superlative. near fine Williams served as the official anthropologist for the British territory of Papua.
