Title: The Origin and Process of the Art of Writing
Publisher: Day and Son, London
Publication Date: 1855
Binding: Paper Mache / Leather
Book Condition: Very Good
Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket
Edition: Second Edition.
Bound in embossed black paper mache boards, spine recently rebound in black leather; gilt lettering to spine. Marbled endpages renewed. Illustrated with 28 plates [13 chromolithographics]. A number of hairline cracks to covers, small abrasion at foot of spine [caused by the eradication of shelf numbering], open leaves a little spotted, sporadic marginal soiling [thumbprints] throughout, small ink inscription to the upper outside corner of second last endpage, but on the whole a good copy internally, in a well-preserved example of this odd little bi-way in the development of publisher's bindings. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 4825
