- Book 1 of 1: The Order of Athena
Alix Hawthorne is no stranger to secrets. Her family have long served the mysterious Order of Athena, an organisation that keeps the public safe from the dark and all things that go bump in the night. When Alix’s close friend is brutally murdered, her pursuit of the truth threatens not only to unravel the mystery, but any chance she has of joining her parents rank in the order she is so desperate to join.
Thea Loftus is a noblewoman with an inquisitive and restless spirit. When an encounter with London’s new demon thrusts her into Alix’s dark and dangerous world, the two girls find themselves drawn together by more than just their shared secrets and mystery.
As they navigate the shadowy streets of London, chaotic carnivals and the confines of the ballroom, Alix and Thea must confront the twisted secrets, personal demons and the growing bond between them.
Brought to Heel is a lush gothic adventure that weaves together mystery, the weight and pressure of legacy, and the strength of love and self-discovery in a world that wants to keep them hidden. Readers of Kerri Maniscalco’s Stalking Jack the Ripper series will love this book.
Dare to follow them into the shadows.
