pp.xx, 467 with colour frontis., and b/w. plates of illus. Small 4to. Some spotting to fore-edge of text block and to ends o/w. contents fine. Original cloth boards thor. vg. to nr. fine. With a very charming, hand-written, note (dated Jan. 1950) about the experiences of the cultivation of Cypripedium spectabile (now C. reginae), commonly known as the Showy Lady's Slipper or Queen Lady's Slipper, the hardy, terrestrial orchid native to North American wetlands.
