nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The Oration of Hyperides Against Demosthenes: Respecting the Treasure of Harpalus is a historical text written by Hyperides in 4th century BC Athens. The book focuses on a scandal involving Harpalus, a treasurer of Alexander the Great who fled to Athens with a large sum of money. Demosthenes, a prominent politician, was accused of accepting bribes from Harpalus and was put on trial. Hyperides, a rival of Demosthenes, gave a speech against him in court, arguing that he was guilty of accepting the money and should be punished accordingly. The book provides a detailed account of the trial and the political climate of Athens at the time. It also sheds light on the complex relationships between politicians and foreign powers in ancient Greece. The Oration of Hyperides Against Demosthenes is a valuable resource for historians and scholars interested in ancient Greek politics and rhetoric. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.…
