Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit' by Jeanette Winterson. This book is the author's debut novel which was much acclaimed on publication. This is a 1985 reprint of the first edition. Published by Pandora Press, UK, 1985, this is a paperback original. This debut novel describes how when a young girl, Jeanette, is attracted to another girl, they are subjected to exorcism by a religious group who are friendly with Jeanette's mother. The novel was televised in 1991 starring Geraldine McEwan. The front cover bears wonderful cover art by Sue Slugett and bears also a 'Whitbread Winner First Novel' sticker. The covers are lightly dusty with a little wear to top and bottom of spine and faint crease to front lower cover. Contents: some age-toning but otherwise the contents are clean and unmarked. Light dustiness A handsome copy overall especially since the spine is very lightly creased but appears unbroken and so the book may be unread. Not exlib and packed and sent with care.
