The Antikythera Mechanism is real. What remains uncertain is who made it, what else may once have existed beside it... and what consequences such knowledge might carry now that... History... has stopped waiting to be found.
For Aurélie Beaufort, a professional investigation begins to collapse into something far more personal. Family secrets, an abandoned workshop and the traces left by the dead draw her to a history that appears to know who she is before she does.
Two thousand years earlier, the world of Metis, Achlys and Minerva is being reshaped by love, catastrophe and the long consequences of an impossible inheritance. Lives separate, return and continue through others. What survives is carried not only in artefacts and memory, but in blood.
Across France, Greece, Sicily and the eastern Mediterranean, the Mechanism's history begins to reveal its true scale.
Ophiuchus Rising is the third MEKANISMO Journal - a story of mothers and daughters, lovers and ghosts, knowledge and consequence, in which the past no longer merely reaches into the present...
It recognises it.
