Scarce hardcover issue of the extensively revised 2022 Ninth Edition of Michael Bazzell’s standard practical guide to Open Source Intelligence. Open Source Intelligence Techniques is a comprehensive hands-on reference for collecting, verifying, analysing and documenting information from publicly available online sources. The Ninth Edition was substantially updated and places increased emphasis on building self-reliant investigative environments rather than depending exclusively on third-party online services. Topics include search engines, social media research, usernames, email addresses, telephone numbers, online communities, images, video, documents, metadata, domain names, IP addresses, government and business records, Linux OSINT tools, virtual machines, methodology, workflow, documentation and ethics. This is the hardcover edition, ISBN 9798761090064, which is considerably less commonly encountered on the secondary market than the paperback edition. Suitable for researchers, intelligence analysts, cybersecurity professionals, journalists, investigators and advanced OSINT practitioners. Abe Condition Description Very Good to Near Fine. New (2022) 9th Edition contains many updated techniques, scripts, and tools!
It is time to look at OSINT in a different way. For many years, and within previous editions of this book, we have relied on external resources to supply our search tools, virtual environments, and investigation techniques. We have seen this protocol fail us when services shut down, websites disappear, and custom resources are dismantled due to outside pressures. This book aims to correct our dilemma. We will take control of our investigative resources and become self-reliant. There will be no more need for online search tools; we will make and host our own locally. We will no longer seek pre-built virtual machines; we will create and configure our own. This book puts the power back in your hands. The new OSINT professional must be self-sustaining and possess their own tools and resources. You will become a more proficient subject matter expert who will be armed with the knowledge and readiness to articulate the sources of your findings. This new ninth edition contains hundreds of pages which have been updated to keep your OSINT investigative methods fresh. It includes new online and offline search tools; a new Linux OSINT virtual machine with pre-built scripts; and tutorials to replicate all Linux OSINT tools within Mac and Windows operating systems. Brand-new search methods for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others ensure you have the latest techniques within your online investigation arsenal. An entire section is devoted to Methodology, Workflow, Documentation, and Ethics which provides a clear game plan for your next active investigation. All digital files are included via download. Store description
Welcome to my carefully curated collection of second-hand, vintage and collectible books, based in Leuven, Belgium. I am a private bookseller and lifelong book lover with a particular interest in unusual, distinctive and hard-to-find titles. My collection is eclectic and includes literature, philosophy, history, art and design, film and cultural studies, science, psychology, travel, Belgian and European history, vintage editions, illustrated books and other specialist non-fiction. I particularly enjoy finding books that deserve to be rediscovered: overlooked editions, unusual publications, books on niche subjects and attractive older volumes that may be difficult to find in ordinary bookshops. Every book offered here is individually inspected. I aim to describe editions and condition carefully and honestly, including significant signs of age, wear, inscriptions, missing components or other imperfections whenever applicable. Photographs show the actual book whenever possible. Books are stored with care and securely packaged for shipping. I am happy to sell internationally and welcome collectors, researchers and readers from around the world. If you have a question about an edition, its condition, contents or additional photographs, please feel free to contact me through AbeBooks. Thank you for browsing my collection, and I hope you find a book here that has been waiting for exactly the right reader. A note about our shipping rates At The Second Chapter, we know that international shipping costs can sometimes seem high, particularly for destinations outside Belgium and neighbouring countries. We deliberately use reliable, traceable shipping with Track & Trace whenever possible. This is important for both you as the buyer and us as the bookseller: your order can be followed throughout its journey, and there is clear confirmation that the parcel has been delivered. Many of the books we offer are scarce, collectible, out-of-print or otherwise difficult to replace. For that reason, we prefer not to send valuable books using cheaper untracked postal services, where neither buyer nor seller can reliably determine what has happened if a parcel is delayed or lost. Our shipping charges therefore reflect the actual cost of secure postal shipment from Belgium (Bpost) rather than being used as an additional source of profit. We always package books carefully to protect them during their journey, and we aim to combine safe packaging, reliable delivery and transparent shipping costs. If you are interested in a book but feel that the quoted shipping cost to your country is unusually high, please feel free to contact us before ordering. Where the book’s weight, dimensions, value and destination allow it, we will gladly check whether a less expensive reliable shipping option is available. Thank you for supporting The Second Chapter and for giving pre-loved books another chapter in their story.…
