Copyright 1887. With an Introduction by Professor Edward S. Morse. Black-and-white frontispiece illustration entitled "The Harpsichord." Some text decorations and reproductions. "The design of this work is to give some account of music in "ye olden time" in New England, more particularly in Boston and Salem. . .The plan of the present book limits the writer to about the year 1830, although a few matters of a later date are incidentally mentioned." Heavy rubbing to cover extremities; spine gutters rubbed and front gutter has sustained 1/4" tear in cloth. Gilt spine lettering partially rubbed away. Cover cloth somewhat faded. Broken hinge papers have been glue-repaired; text block slightly mis-aligned. Portion of newspaper clipping from 1888 affixed to front endpaper. Limted library marks: spine label; bookplate to inside cover; small "date due" slip- and pocket-removal remnants to rear endpapers. Text is complete, clean, and intact.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
Shipping terms
Prices include Media Rate postage in U.S. Although overseas shipping rates are often charged as they appear in the matrix, the quoted rates are guidelines only; we determine the exact cost for shipping of each order.
Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
We are happy to accommodate buyers who wish to include extra insurance and/or other post office tracking services, but these services are at the buyer's expense, unless stated in the book description(we insure some items). [Please note that filing a successful USPS insurance claim with necessary proof is a rigorous process with a dubious outcome.]
