Clean, tight, unmarked; small tear to upper back corner of spine at edge; otherwise very minimal wear; appears unread; The Old Man on his Back Prairie and Heritage Conservation Area is a 13,000-acre preserve established by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Sharon Butala guides us through Old Man on His Back, revealing landscapes on both an intimate and a grand scale. From prehistory, to Aboriginal hunters, European settlers and today's ranchers, Butala explores the past and present, raising challenging questions about the meaning and value of the land. Courtney Milne's accompanying photographs are seamlessly integrated into the narrative, his images capturing the drama and beauty of Old Man on His Back in every season and mood.
