Greg Rucka is a New York Times bestselling author of hundreds of comics and nearly two dozen novels. He has written for film, television, and video games, and he is currently developing his Image series LAZARUS, co-created by Michael Lark, with Legendary Pictures and Matt Tolmach Productions. His career has included critically acclaimed and Eisner-winning work in both the creator-owned and work-for-hire arenas. Rucka lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, author Jennifer Van Meter, and their two children, Elliot and Dashie.
Brian Michael Bendis is an award-winning artist and writer of comics/graphic novels. A prolific writer, Bendis was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in a Jewish-American family. Bendis always aspired to make comic books, reportedly declaring at age five that he would be the artist for
Spider-Man. Later, he attended classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art for five years. While trying to break into the world of comics, he did illustrations for local Cleveland newspapers and magazines. In the mid-1990s, Bendis found work publishing independent comics, including
Spunky Todd,
Fire,
A.K.A. Goldfish, and
Jinx. In the late 1990s, he made the move to Image Comics where among his creations was the critically acclaimed, multiple award-winning series
Powers. In the 2000s, Brian Michael Bendis began working for Marvel, bringing his talents to titles like
Daredevil,
Alias,
Avengers, and
House of M. In 2017, Bendis announced his move to DC Comics; debuting there with the landmark
Action Comics 1000 in 2018.
In addition to his work in comics, Bendis has also written for television. He worked on the 2003 and 2012
Spider-Man and other Marvel Comics cartoons. In 2016, Bendis won a Peabody Award as co-creator of Marvel TV's
Jessica Jones for Netflix. He has also written for the
Marvel Heroes video game.
Kelly Sue DeConnick is best known for surprise hits like Carol Danvers' rebranding as
Captain Marvel and the Eisner-nominated mythological western, PRETTY DEADLY; the latter was co-created with artist Emma Ríos. The sci-fi kidney-punch called BITCH PLANET, co-created with Valentine De Landro, launched to rave reviews in December 2014 and has since been nominated for an Eisner. She currently writes
Aquaman for DC as well as develops television for Legendary TV with her husband and partner, Matt Fraction, as Milkfed Criminal Masterminds.
Leandro Fernández was born in Casilda, Argentina, in 1973. As a comic artist he has worked for such publishers as Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Oni Press, Dark Horse, and others from US, Europe, and South America. He's done books like Wolverine: Coyote Crossing with Greg Rucka and Northlanders: The Plague Widow with Brian Wood. He's drawn complete books from Garth Ennis's Punisher MAX run and many others of popular characters like Deadpool, Avengers, New Mutants, and Hulk. He co-created THE DISCIPLINE with Peter Milligan.
Valentine De Landro is a Canadian comic book artist, illustrator, and designer. His credits include titles from Marvel, DC Comics, IDW, Valiant, and Dark Horse. He's known for
Marvel Knights: 4 and
X-Factor. He is the co-creator of
Bitch Planet with Kelly Sue DeConnick.
