8vo. Pp. xxvi, 445. Dark blue cloth, titles stamped in gilt on the cover and spine, front endpaper map. Illustrated with several sections of black & white photo reproductions. Two-sided b&w map folded in a pocket on the back cover. With chronology, bibliography and index. Corners gently bumped, leaves crisp and bright, map folds tight and strong. In the two color illustrated dust jacket, price of $3 intact on the front flap: edges rubbed and chipped, spine sunned, closed tear to the back panel near the spine. A well-preserved second edition copy in the venerable American Guide Series. Dust jacket is now housed in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
