Of the 384 Civil War battlefields cited as critical to preserve by the congressionally appointed Civil War Sites Advisory Commission, 123 are located in Virginia. This guide is the comprehensive guidebook to the most significant battles of the Civil War. Funded in part by the National Park Service and sanctioned by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, no other guidebook on the market rivals it for historical detail, accuracy, and credibility.
