Neuware - When the setting is unfamiliar, knowing what to expect lets you give your attention to the people around you. The Odd Guide to Etiquette and Protocol is a practical, searchable reference for everyday life, formal occasions, civic and diplomatic events, religious and cultural customs, family milestones, business settings, dining, travel, and digital communication.James Allister Odd brings together modern guidance, historical precedent, official protocol, and 478 constructed situations that show how principles work in practice. Look up the question you have now: meeting a partner's family, attending a funeral, using a phone at the table, addressing an official, receiving guests with different needs, navigating a formal meal, or recovering gracefully when something goes wrong. The book's 239 entries, event-preparation guides, worksheets, glossary, historical notes, and alphabetical lookup are designed for use before an occasion and while planning one. Its mentor-like approach explains both the convention and its purpose, helping readers enter unfamiliar rooms with confidence, credibility, and consideration for others.…
