Neuware - Super Bowl Sunday. Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The security cameras at Saltzman's Fine Jewelry and Watches captured everything - his face, his jeans and leather jacket, his tap on Chester Bentley's shoulder, his finger pulling the trigger on his .41 Magnum revolver, his jewelry heist and his license plate as he drove away in his beige Toyota. Roy Dillard was arrested later that afternoon at his home in Ft. Lauderdale for the murder of Chester Bentley. It would be an open and shut case. A slam dunk. But lurking beneath the mountain of evidence, hidden within the folds of the facts, a secret was wriggling its way to the surface. With a struggling greenhorn assistant public defender and a menacing veteran state attorney at war over the fate of perplexing defendant Roy Dillard, An Obvious Slam Dunk creates a trial unlike any other. William T. Goodman cleverly weaves a shocking, surprising and unpredictable tale, delivering yet again another masterful page-turner.
