Language: English. Approximately 498 pages. English : Print-on-demand reprint. Original edition : 1609. Treatise on Julius Caesar's Commentaries, with particular attention to the De bello civili tradition and to early modern editorial practices. The work is notable for its engraved title-page, illustrative plates, and textual apparatus, and it offers a substantial witness to classical scholarship and seventeenth-century humanist reading of Caesar. This work examines Caesar's Commentaries, especially the civil war text, in the context of early modern scholarship and annotation. It is of interest for classical studies, Renaissance reception, and the history of printing. Book images are non-contractual. This item is printed on demand and ships from our printing partners' facility nearest the destination. These facilities are located mainly in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.
