Mary E. Barnard is associate professor of Spanish and Comparative Literature at The Pennsylvania State University. Frederick A. de Armas is the Andrew W. Mellon Distinguished Service Professor in the Humanities, Spanish Literature, and Comparative Literature at the University of Chicago.
