Print on Demand. Intended for infant classes, this book provides an easy step-stone towards more advanced coursework with its series of object lessons that cover a wide range of common everyday-life examples and scenarios. These lessons empower young children to acquire knowledge and better understand the world around them, aligning with recent changes in departmental guidelines. The book's engaging activities and illustrations encourage active learning and make observation, description, and critical thinking second-nature. The lessons cover topics such as size, shape, color, and texture, and also introduce young learners to the fundamentals of natural phenomena like the sky, the sun, and the wind. In addition, the lessons foster an appreciation for animals and the importance of treating them with care and respect, developing the children's social and humanitarian awareness. This book is a valuable resource for teachers seeking to promote active learning and lay a strong foundation for further education in science and the natural world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

This course of Object Lessons for use in Infant Schools is designed as an easy stepping-stone to the author's more advanced course for use in the Senior departments; and is the natural outcome of the widely extended favour with which the two preceding series of books have been received in the educational world.
In view of the recent changes in the Code, which have set up new relations between the school, h.m. Inspector, and the Education Department, and affect the everyday life of both teachers and scholars, it has been deemed advisable, after consultation with several Infant Teachers, to arrange the course in four stages. Under the old regime the Infant School seemed to naturally resolve itself into three divisions. It is now thought that, under the new conditions, a course of lessons laid down in four stages will be welcomed by most teachers, as giving them a stage at their discretion, to provide for the more rapid class promotions which will henceforth take place.
