pp: 344. Printed card covers. 'A collection of music, accompaniments, poems, dances, essays and teaching suggestions contributed by teachers from across Canada.' The introduction and other preliminary text are in both English and French. The book contains more than 180 Canadian songs and poems, some of which were composed specifically for this volume. The music is arranged by geographical location. And it includes selections from First Nations, individual provinces, and the Yukon/Northwest Territories. There are pre-arranged instrumental accompaniments, short plays, legends, and sections dedicated to recorders and Orff percussion instruments. The book features an essay on the history of the Orff movement in Canada, ideas for cross-curricular connections, adaptations for students with special needs, and a highly praised "Tips for Teachers" chapter. This is a near fine copy with only light signs of wear at the extremities of the covers.
