Neuware - In The Graduation thirteen year old Annie O'Brien is forced to attend a private school to hone her skills at being a woman. Annie sees this as an unfair act on the part of her parents. At the academy she learns other students have been abandoned by their families. Staunch-heartedly, she fights against the disciplinary actions of the nuns, seeking revenge. Torn between her friends at home and the academy's values, she becomes involved with an undesirable man, which changes the course of her life. The reader will empathize with the heroine as she fights a double standard, then falls in love only to be broadsided by disaster. Left on her own, she must make lifelong decisions at a very young age. Although the time period falls in the 1950's, this story captures the same challenges that a teen faces today with relationships, abandonment, and abuse. This book is available with or without the Study Guide which gives the parent and the teenager an opportunity to consider other options that might be more effective and would not widen the generation gap. The drama stands on its own as a gripping story without the Study Guide. Carolee has handcrafted her children's books to cross all age brackets and offer the unique concept of an Adult Fairy Tale. Whether read alone or to a child, the illustrations will bring delight with a smile and a giggle to both young and old alike, offering the opportunity to share simple values that have been forgotten with the passage of time. The Adult Fairy tales paired are Goodie RudeShoes: Series One, Billy BitterBetter: Series Two, and Granny NeatFreak. Other children's books are The Mouse House: Age 4 to 10 and That Secret Part of Me: Age 3 to 100. Various works include: From Silly to Sinister: Adult Short Stories, Book One and Two, Navigating the Potholes of Life: humor, drama and adventure for teens and adults, A Reason to Dream: drama based on a true story for teens and adults, The Graduation had three versions. The Graduation: A stand-alone novel full of adventure, humor, drama for teens and adults, The Graduation with Study Guide for parents with teens, teens and adults. The Graduation Study Guide for the individual who prefers having a separate copy of the guide and With God in Mind: A devotional, Thought provoking prose for teens and adults.…
