About the Authors:
Catriona Seth, titulaire de la chaire Maréchal Foch à l'université d'Oxford, est membre de l'Académie britannique, de l'Academia Europaea et de l'Académie Royale de Belgique. Elle est l'auteure de nombreux travaux sur la littérature française et l'histoire culturelle du XVIIIe siècle.
Pierre Frantz est professeur de littérature française à la Sorbonne université. Spécialiste du théâtre du XVIIIe siècle, ses principaux domaines de recherche sont l'histoire et l'esthétique du théâtre, et l'histoire des idées esthétiques. Il dirige en ce moment l'édition du théâtre complet de Voltaire.
Catherine Volpilhac-Auger est professeur émérite de littérature française moderne et contemporaine à l'École normale supérieure de Lyon et membre de l'IHRIM (UMR 5317). Elle dirige l'édition critique des oeuvres complètes de Montesquieu.
Philip Stewart, professeur émérite à l'université Duke (États-Unis), a édité les Lettres persanes de Montesquieu (Oxford, 2004 et Paris, 2013) et dirigé Les Lettres persanes en leur temps (Paris, 2013). Il est actuellement codirecteur, avec Catherine Volpilhac-Auger, de la correspondance complète de Montesquieu.
