Your anxiety can be crippling and it can feel like your brain has been hijacked. The OCD Coloring Book Journal describes how you can take back your brain and live the life you want to live. The OCD Coloring Book Journal is a supplemental add-on to the original OCD Coloring Book. The same artwork will challenge you into the much-needed practice of “talking back” to OCD. The Journal edition helps you put into practice the strategies you’re coloring. Through writing prompts and planned activities, you’ll be guided to take action to promote further healing and growth.
In addition to journaling, each coloring page reinforces a positive way to interact with OCD and serves a powerful blow to the dark, negative side of OCD. Not only do the OCD Coloring Books teach you how to defy OCD, but as a bonus, the act of coloring is widely known to help relieve stress, increase focus and develop mindfulness—a much-needed skill in the treatment of OCD.
The journal entries will help you stay focused on what truly matters in life and help you track your progress. As time passes you’ll be able to look back and see how far you’ve come. Celebrating all your victories is an important part of the healing process. The Journal will bear witness to your hard work.
The Journal includes a variety of playful, sometimes paradoxical scenes that incorporate therapy concepts found in Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies are widely recognized as effective treatments for OCD and are explained in the book.
This is a beginner’s guide for people seeking help with OCD. For those familiar with the treatment of OCD, The OCD Coloring Book Journal reinforces concepts previously learned and can be used as a relapse prevention strategy.
