The phone rang. Mom fell. And now someone is handing you a clipboard.
What happens next will cost your family more than you think — unless you know what they're not telling you.
Every year, millions of American families walk into the long-term care system completely unprepared. They sign documents they don't understand. They watch decades of savings disappear at $10,000, $12,000, even $14,000 a month. They believed Medicare would cover it. It won't — not after 100 days. They believed Medicaid was there to help. It is — but only after you're nearly broke.
Inside you'll discover:
- The real 2026 cost of nursing home care — and why the brochure price is fiction
- The Medicaid 5-year lookback rule that destroys families who thought they were being smart
- Legal strategies that protect 40%–100% of family assets — without hiding a dollar
- The VA Aid & Attendance benefit worth up to $2,727/month that fewer than 10% of eligible veterans collect
- A state-by-state report card — the good guys, the bad guys, and the states that will drain you dry
- A complete 30-Day Action Plan with exact calls, documents, and decisions
The families who protect the most aren't the wealthiest. They're the ones who knew the rules.
Your parent worked fifty years for what they have. This book is how you protect it.
