My Number 1 Book for Going Number 2 (Paperback)

Dr. Sarah holds a doctor of physical therapy degree and is a certified pelvic rehabilitation practitioner. She began specializing in pelvic health in 2011, opened Buffalo's first pelvic health-focused physical therapy practice in 2013, and has been helping patients from age four to ninety-four ever since.She has a deep belief that healing should be holistic and paired with honesty and humor. No question is ever too awkward-not even that one. Her patients have inspired her to continually grow in this amazing field and have been her greatest cheerleaders for writing a book that shares these "nuggets" with other communities. This book reflects those honest moments, the power of education, and the healing that happens when people feel safe enough to talk about what no one wants to talk about. When she is not with patients, she is where her heart longs to be, at home or traveling with her husband and son. She loves being a mom, a wife, and a homeschooling parent. Raising a hilarious little boy is a joy, and this book has been inspired by his genuine curiosity. At age six he asked for a way to one day teach his kids some tips about pooping. He even included a book idea about this when he conducted a survey during "Take Your Kid to Work" day with his dad. Clearly it was time to write the book! Dr. Sarah's hope is that each reader will find a restroom rhythm that works best for them-one without stress, and one that can be shared from generation-to-generation without shame. Prior to opening her own practice, Sarah worked at an oncology hospital in Buffalo, New York, as well as a pediatric physical therapy practice in Rochester, New York. As a member of SCORE International medical mission teams to three trips to the Dominican Republic for three trips between 2009-2011, she led the physical therapy team and mentored students in multiple clinics; designed and organized a clean water project to distribute systems throughout sugarcane villages; and led a pediatric-focused team to assist and fit children for mobility devices in a local orphanage. As a volunteer with Hope Rising Together she has supported that nonprofit's efforts in Buffalo as well as in Sierra Leone as part of a team, who met with village chiefs to assess current clean water wells and planning future well sites.

Beebe Hargrove grew up in the middle of a spinach field in King City, California, surrounded by a lot of animals, coastal valley winds, decent books, and parents who let her paint on her bedroom walls. She traveled to Orange County to be educated by the hardworking, upstanding artists at Cal State Fullerton. She has worked designing t-shirts, architectural illustrations, and fine and fashion jewelry. Her eye-catching illustrations have helped win awards for books including "Emma Puff's Secret Series."In collaboration with the nonprofit King City In Bloom, she and a team of volunteers and professional artists painted several murals n her hometown. The murals tell the story of the town's inception and the local agricultural economy. In 2024, she traveled with her family to La Paz, Bolivia. There she worked with a group of international volunteers to paint a mural at a children's shelter. For this book, she looked at images of Jorge Chávez International Airport in Peru. She lives in Georgia with her two daughters, two cats, and a supportive husband. Surrounded by extremely tall trees instead of spinach and an even larger pile of books, she is grateful for Sarah, Lucid House, the supporters of human made art, and all readers who make her work possible.
