Octavo. 359 pages, index. An unrecorded copy. Mortimer Harris had earlier published his work on Horace that was issued in two editions. This work is not recorded in OCLC or NUC. An interesting book of poetry which the author had written between 1844 and early 1882. The Folger Library has a letter to him from Sir Theodore Martin who received a knighthood for his biography of Prince Albert. Martin would be sending him one of Lady Martin's Shakepearean Studies, discusses her poor health. Helena Faucit Martin was a leading actress whose work was largely in major roles in Shakespeare's major plays. Bound in 3/4polished calf over brown cloth, raised bands, compartments decoratively stamped in gilt, black morocco spine label gilt, all edges marbled with matching endpapers, some wear to corners, a bit of spotting to cloth.
