Reimer, Fourth Enlarged Edition, with 422 total pages (208 vol.1 + 214 vol.2), octavo (8vo) in size. NOTE: EX-LIBRARY BOOK, please expect usual library markings and indicia. German language text. The book is bound in marbled boards from an elaborately gilt-decorated leather spine. The book remains sound and solid and the text is complete and intact. The book still stands square and straight, and is firm in its binding, no pages of text are loose, torn, or missing (blank front endpaper and half-title page are gone, book opens to the title page). There is wear to the marbled boards at the edges and corners, and the marbling is chipped away at both corners of the front board. The leather spine is beautifully embossed with gilt lettering and elaborate decorations. The spine remains intact and shows little sign of any wear (at some point, for better or worse, the spine and hinges were protected and reinforced with clear archival tape, obviously professionally applied. There is no writing, underlining, highlighting, or any other such markings in the text. There is moderate age-toning to the pages, but no foxing, and all text is clear and legible. There is staining of some type to the exterior fore-edge pages which in some instances has penetrated to the interior margins of the pages themselves. This is cosmetic only, does not affect any text, and has not affected the page surfaces in any way but visually. Buy with confidence; professional booksellers for 35 years, selling online since 1995.
