About this Item
A rare and fragile survival from the early days of Twentieth Century Football. This is an embossed Funeral Remembrance Card created after Notts County were beaten 2-0 by Swindon Town in the second round of the F.A. cup in 1912. It is not clear for which team this was created, but the printed inscription reads "In Loving Remembrance of Notts County who fell at the Swindon County Ground, in the Second Round of the English Cup, Saturday, February 3rd, 1912" There follows an 8 line stanza which recalls their defeat "in days of yore" ie the previous year's F.A. cup round. Condition is "poor" with one corner missing, a little adhesion loss on the "O" of "NOTTS" and 2 small holes in top margin. Nevertheless a rare item. Seller Inventory # 000922
