("The Ark" was the name given to the house near present-day Public Square in Cleveland at which leading citizens of Cleveland met to discuss natural history and related subjects in the mid- to late-Nineteenth Century. The building no longer exists, of course, but the camaraderie and love of books of the "Arkites" are now embodied in the Rowfant Club.)
