Print on Demand. This book presents a collection of translated folklore stories from the understudied group of African tribes collectively known as the Fjort, who inhabit the French Congo region. These stories, compiled over many years by an experienced ethnographer who lived amongst the tribes, offer rare access to the traditional narratives that form the foundation of their way of life. The author analyzes these stories within the context of the cultural and religious beliefs of the Fjort, providing insights into themes of the supernatural, the role of animals, and the importance of storytelling itself. The collection contributes to the broader understanding of the folklore of the Congo region, while also shedding light on the traditions of a group whose culture has been historically marginalized. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
