Bookbinding refers to the process of physically assembling a book using ordered paper sheets which are folded together into sections or left as a stack of individual sheets. This is then bound together along one edge by either sewing or using a flexible adhesive. "A Note on Bookbinding" contains some general information about bookbinding written for those with a practical interest in the subject and would make for a worthy addition to a book lover's collection. Contents include: "A Note on Bookbinding", "Note on Binding Leather", "Pigskin", "Sealskin", "Morocco", "Sheepskin", "Calf", "How to Give Orders for Binding", "Notes on the Special Committee of the Society of Arts on Leather for Book Binding", etc. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in a modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new introduction on the history of bookbinding.
