Item description from seller

Map. Engraving with hand colored outline. Sheet measures 26" x 21" Large polar projection of the northern hemisphere. Land masses and islands are extensively labeled, showing cities, rivers, and topography. Mountains are rendered pictorially. Notations in the North Pole references Sir William Edward Parry's expedition in 1827. It is in very good condition with minor chips and tears to center fold at edges. Scarce. George Philip (1800-1882) was a cartographer and map publisher who began working in educational material. His son, also George (1823-1902), joined the successful and expanding firm in 1848. This fine map is an impressive example of their work.
