Item description from seller
Language: ENGLISH. ABOUT THE BOOK:- The Northeast region has rich natural resources, cultural diversity, and tourism potential. The Seven Sisters of India refers to the seven Northeast states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura and one brother in Sikkim. These states are known for their stunning landscapes, and unique traditions, cultures, languages and indigenous tribes. This important discourse on the eight Northeast States has portrayed an immense value to unravel the mystery and significance of Seven Sisters and one Brother. As a journalist covering the Northeast region I am quite familiar with the nuances and problems of these states. Through this important discourse I want to highlight these problems which have made an impediment to their development trajectory and also discuss prospects to find a durable solution. So, this book is quite informative to provide all the information regarding the eight Northeast states in one volume to give invaluable inputs about the problems and solutions of political, economic, culture, education, poor infrastructure, poor connectivity and border issues, migration, insurgency, ethnic, trafficking, smuggling and drug-trafficking to the readers, the students and the researchers. These states are home to a wide range of indigenous tribes, each with their own unique traditions and languages, making the region a melting pot of different cultures. These states are economically and socially interlinked, often relying on each other for resources and cultural exchange. This interdependence has fostered a sense of camaraderie among them, reinforcing the familial metaphor of seven sisters and one brother. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Shib Ram Roy, worked in different platforms of the print media in the National Herald, State Times, The Pioneer, and The Political and Business Daily. Earlier, Roy had written, compiled and edited four books on different topics. Being a scribe in the Political and Business Daily covering the Northeast states familiar with the problems of these regions has prompted me to write this book. 437.…
