Cloth hardcover with gilded pictorial front board and spine, no dust jacket, and gilt edged page block head, in very good condition for its age. With eighty-three illustrations from original drawings. Spine is sunned. Edges, corners and spine ends are bumped and rubbed. Spine is cocked. Page block face and foot are rough cut and tanned. A damp stain and tear (repaired with tape) to the fore-edge of the frontispiece. Foxing on the endpapers, and spots of foxing and the occasional mark on a few of the pages which are otherwise clear. Boards are clean and binding is sound. LW.
