We all long for family, festivities, history, and roots to call our own. This book is a beginner's guide of both familiar and very unique sets of festival traditions of a very old Norse Gaelic Clan from Southern Ireland. Inside, you will find stories, myths, histories and origins, festival games, and recipes to help you connect to the roots of this very old family that might just hold a little bit of you. Regardless of where you are, who you are, and where your family hails from, you can find warmth and history here, and it's up to you to make that history your own.
Discover the rich cultural heritage of Europe's ancient pagan festivals in this captivating book. Whether you are interested in history, culture, or just want to learn more about these fascinating festivals, this book is the perfect guide. It provides a comprehensive exploration of these festivals commonly celebrated in Gaelic and Scandinavian cultures that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the rich cultural traditions that have survived through the ages and the heritage of one family obsessed with passing on the stories and festivities we hold so dear. This book offers a unique insight into the customs, foods, dances, and music that were an integral part of these ancient celebrations. You will be transported back in time and learn how these festivals were a way of honoring the cycles of life and death. From decorating homes to making traditional foods and performing rituals, each festival was an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate.
You’ll also delve into the ways our ancestors celebrated in the changing of seasons and honoring their ancient ancestors, who are more commonly known as gods from Norse and Gaelic mythology. It is important to note that in this book we focus on the cultural aspect of these traditions. While there was certainly widespread worship of pagan gods throughout Europe, this book is intended to shine a light on the non-religious aspects and focus on how the common folk celebrated and how those celebrations eventually took cultural hold. It explores the history behind the customs and the deep-rooted cultural significance that has been passed down through generations. By understanding the cultural traditions of these festivals, readers can gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of honoring one's ancestors and the cycles of nature in the modern day.
