Norma, the shiny and spotless trailer is surprised when her people leave her. She is faced with emotions that seem unbearable. Will she figure out what to do or will her feelings get the best of her? On a warm summer day, Norma is surprised to see her people pack bags and leave. This is new for Norma and she doesn't like it. Her heart beats faster and it's hard to breathe as she tries to figure out what to do. Luckily, Norma has friends to help her feel better and make sense of this all. Though she is shiny and spotless on the outside, she can't help but feel alone, confused and scared on the inside.
About the Author: My name is Markie Mitchell. I am a 29 year old heterosexual cisgendered female who identifies as Biracial. I have a master's degree in social work with a focus in clinical mental health. I have always loved serving children and have a passion for bringing my clinician experiences into the lives of others. I am working to create a children's book series with a focus on mental health, specifically for children of color who have experienced trauma. The current state of the racial unrest of our society has given me motivation to create content that is sensitive, relatable, and inspiring. The characters and ideas from the story are bits and pieces of my life and reflect my own experience with mental health.
