Next‑Generation Power Systems: Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicle Applications is a comprehensive resource that addresses emerging issues facing the power system industry in its drive toward more sustainable, reliable, and flexible power generation. It discusses technical, operational, and grid integration challenges and solutions for large‑scale renewable energy and electric power transmission and generation, including issues related to system stability, reliability, efficiency, and capacity. Integrating foundational theory with realistic tools and applications, along with research‑related author insights, this book provides an understanding of the different challenges that exist in operating electricity grids in a sustainable and smart manner. It includes specific content on identifying the overall structure of electricity markets, creating economic models to analyze the behavior of market stakeholders, improving system performance, and managing risk in power systems. It is an invaluable resource for students and researchers focused on energy science, while also providing useful instruction to practicing engineers and professionals in the mechanical or automotive engineering fields.
