Paperback booklet, comic book format. (5 1/2" l x 8 1/2" w). Color drawing of a vibrant Central Park before a nuclear strike on front cover, image of total destruction on rear cover after the strike, original staple binding, unpaginated [16 pp], b/w drawings with text throughout. Moderate wear with 2" tear on spine (sound structure overall), corner creases on front cover, no owner names, text is age-toned otherwise unmarked, tight binding. "In June 1982 the New York City Council voted to refuse all Federal funds for civil defense preparations for nuclear war. This decision was taken after extensive testimony by medical and governmental experts. The information was not only terrifying, but revealed our vulnerability to the effects of nuclear weapons. This booklet was designed by Physicians for Social Responsibility / New York City and the office of Council member Ruth Messinger to make that testimony available to everyone.".
