About the Author: David Smith is a freelance writer on a variety of subjects. His main area of interest is US and British military history. He attended the University of Iowa and University of Hull for his degree in American Studies. He then completed his MA in Military Studies with distinction at the University of Liverpool, with a thesis on the battle of Long Island. He now lives in Chester, UK. This is his second book for Osprey. Graham Turner is a leading historical artist, specializing in the medieval period. He has illustrated numerous titles for Osprey, covering a wide variety of subjects from the dress of the 10th-century armies of the Caliphates, through the action of bloody medieval battles, to the daily life of the British Redcoat of the late 18th century. The son of the illustrator Michael Turner, Graham lives and works in Buckinghamshire, UK.
