Description: Well illustrated with black and white drawings and diagrams and color photographs. From the jacket blurb: ''Using the voice aid as a common thread, Tanya encourages riders and handlers to teach their horses to work at liberty. She shows how work on long reins can prepare the young horse for riding and the benefits that the older horse can gain from suppling exercises. Work with long reins can also lead to basic driving techniques and this is covered as well. Tanya also introduces the reader to the delights of riding Western style. The essence of this book is that work with horses is fun -- both for the horse and the rider. Voice training takes the reader into a new dimension of understanding horses and ponies. The voice is the most natural aid you can use and the reader will learn how to teach their horse a vocabulary which extends beyond the normal range. Voice training can be used by anyone, on any horse or pony, of any age.'' BINDNG/CONDITION: purple boards; a Near Fine book, with a Near Fine dust jacket; publisher's price on the jacket flap is intact. Light yellow endpapers. about 10 inches tall by 9 inches wide. 190 pages.…

From the Author
As an international rider and trainer I have always been of the opinion that variety is the key word when working horses, I believe in cooperation not domination. The object of my book is to draw you into a whole new world of training, breaking down the language barrier and building your own communication lines.
The title New Sensations for the Horse and Rider (introducing Voice Training) says it all. I take you through the process of getting started in various new disciplines. Featuring throughout my book is something that has tended to be ignored and it is 'The Voice'. I hope my book will appeal to all ages, I want you to pick it up and say "that looks fun I will try it".
Not only do I explain in detail how to get started in the new disciplines but I use a variety of horses from Iberian, German even Miniature horses. The great thing is that anyone what ever size or age, the same goes for their horse will find a New Sensation to try. Don't worry if you don't own a horse, you can read what to do so you know how to get started, then you are pointed in the right direction with some addresses.
I have written the book in a non technical language, covering Voice Training and Liberty Work, Long Reining, Lunging, Western Riding and Driving. It is well illustrated with about 100 colour photographs and line drawings.
I hope you enjoy it! My website: tanyashorses.com is currently being updated
