Of the poet Keith Althaus, we like to say he’s a realist who doesn’t shy from abstraction and a regionalist with an eye for the universal. As John Skoyles writes, his “ moral center, perfect ear and ability to summon the infinite from the everyday are in full display here in poems that show the range and depth of his career. His New & Selected Poems is a major literary event.”

Keith Althaus is the author of four previous poetry collections, Rival Heavens (1993), Ladder of Hours (2005), and Cold Storage, winner of the 2016 Off the Grid Poetry Prize. He has received a Pushcart Prize as well as grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Massachusetts Foundation of the Arts. In 1969 he was one of the first Writing Fellows at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. He lives on Cape Cod with his wife, the artist Susan Baker.
