Instead of speaking of the inevitability of decline, there is the suggestion that the more pronounced effects can be ameliorated by a healthy diet. In the Oxford Dictionary of the History of Medicine, it notes that Robinson was already forming judgments based on the new scientific method, so rather than basing his opinion on Aristotle, he is using his own observations though he has not fully escaped elements of humeral physiology.
