S. map in color: 1879 by O. W. Gray & Son; double-page, color map: Gray's New Map of Ohio: Frank A. Gray, 1877, with inserts; and 24 color maps relating to Allen County, Ohio, Lima, Ohio (some are double-page), and 13 black & white lithographic plates of scenes (all are printed on both sides, most with a number of various sized images). With some pages numbered 33 1/2; page 141 has been torn in half vertically, with similar damage to other back pages of indexes (pp. 139-140), with loss on some of the blank page margins on pp. 139-141; some edges of maps & plates show marginal tears, tanning to edges, penciling, stains. The leather spine is lacking, with the black cloth-covered front & back covers detached but present, the covers show wear, and this volume requires proper paper conservation and binding restoration. Name in penciled block letters on the back of the title-page: W. D. Darling (of Shawnee township; William D. Darling, 1847-1927). Very scarce item. Weight: 6 1/2 lbs.
